One of fashion’s slightly lesser known award ceremonies took place this week, the Certified Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards. Celebs, designers, and fashion icons walked the red carpet at Lincoln Center in NYC, showing off their stuff (especially Rihanna!). Here is a recap of our favorite looks from Monday night.
As we’re sure you’ve heard, Rihanna’s custom Swarovski crystal number, designed by Adam Selman, left nothing to the imagination. Revealing, it was, but she looked flawless as always.
Naomi Campbell also dazzled in a slightly-skimpy backless gown. She looked stunning, although her best accessory may have been Tyson Beckford.
Chanel Iman took the sparkles with a long sleeve number by Monique Lhullier, amd a sleek old Hollywood up-do.
One of our personal favorite fashionistas, Rachel Zoe looked amazing in an asymmetrical, one shoulder gown. She was structured and sleek in her own design, as always.
Coco Rocha brought the drama in a grown by Christian Siriano. Her dark lip and matching hat tied it all together.
Karlie Kloss was sleek and demure in Band of Outsiders cream gown.
Rocking the Angelina leg, Joan Smalls wore an edgy dress by Prabal Gurung. Her hair perfectly offset the well-placed shows of skin.
Olivia Polmero took the hemline up a little in Ann Taylor. Her sleeves and fringe looked excellent.
Sophia Bush rocked on-trend cream cut-outs in Marchesa. We saw even more long sleeves and her statement necklace was on point.
Anna Chlumsky wore Cynthia Rowley in a trendy two-piece outfit and chunky white and clear heels.
This year’s newest and brightest fashion icon, Lupita Nyong’o also pulled out a two-piece number from Suno. She went bold with her colors and pattern mixing and it totally worked.
Working in more fun pattern, Zoey Deutch rocked a short Rebecca Minkoff dress with some awesome pumps and simple hair.
Congrats to all award honorees, especially the talented (and oh-so handsome) Tom Ford, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award!
