Beautifully Bronzed

posted by: FIG

Is there anything better than summertime bronze? We didn’t think so. Skincare 101 says to apply sunscreen daily to avoid harming your skin, so we’ve picked our favorite bronzers to help you achieve a natural glow all summer long.

Bronze Goddess by Estee Lauder provides shine-free color, and works well on all skin types. Minimal shine photographs well, and won’t add volume to your face.

The Bronzing Powder by MAC is a lightly tinted powder, and provides minimal coverage. You never want a bronzer that has high-coverage, or you’ll start to look like sponge cake. Light coverage powders are also great for layering, meaning you can enhance the shade by adding more. Can you say contouring?

A golden glow doesn’t have to break the bank! Try the Natural Radiance Bronzer by Neutrogena. One of our staffers swears by it, and we agree her skin looks fabulous. Multiple tones help to create a highlighting effect, and this one comes with added vitamins.

If you want a little more shimmer in your bronzer, Sun Bunny by Too Faced is the powder for you. This particular blend is created with a pink undertone, so you’ll never resemble an Oompa Loompa. A soft golden glow highlights cheekbones well, and can also be used on the brow bone.

For a more intense glow, try the Shimmer Brick in Bronze by Bobbi Brown. This compact combines unique shades of bronze and shimmer to give you skin J.Lo would envy. Bobbi herself recommends to pay attention to the top of your cheekbones when applying for a highlight effect.

Bronzers should be applied to areas that naturally capture more sun than other parts of your face, namely the forehead, cheekbones, nose and temples. Your skin is your #1 accessory, so protect yourself against harmful UV rays, and stock up on a bronzer instead. Share your favorite brand with us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
